About Me

I'm just your average guy with a love and passion for wine. I enjoy touring and tasting as well as collecting wines. My current cellar sits around 350 bottles which fluctuates dependent on occasions and if I find a bargain. My preference for drinking as you will discover as this blog grows is to big bold Shiraz, Tempranillo, Sangiovese and the occasional Rosé on a summers day. Although they are the wines I love I definitely appreciate all wines and give my descriptions/recommendations based on the quality and taste of the wine not based on my personal preference to the grape variety, I will drop my opinion in there to help those few out who simply want to be told good or not good. Good luck with your purchases and I hope I can help. Happy drinking.

Evans and Tate Metricup Rd Cabernet Sauvignon 2010

Ahh Club Mofo, how glad I am to be a member as I filter through my cases!

Cassis, tomato and tobacco leaf leap out of the glass, supported by dense dark fruit. Palate is well structured, good fruit, nice medium weight with a mid length finish and youthful acidity.

Good everyday Margaret River Cabernet I say! Quite easy drinking but could use some decent protein to cut through the tannin.

Jimmy boy wasn't that happy slapping it with 90pts. Couple of Golds as well so a well liked wine overall. Me 92, could do with a bit more fruit and weight.

Value for money, absolutely!! $18 in Dans and $25 at cellar door you can't go wrong.

This was a nice wine with dinner and I'll get some more given the chance... (Hint hint boys @ vinomofo.com)
